Scouts

Scouting Ireland Current issue (2010) Patrol Leader rank stripe.

Patrol Stripes 1999 - 2004

The last issue by the CSI (Scouting Ireland) of the Patrol Stripe was black with a rather reflective white stripe. It was issued in 1999 and used up to 2004 by most troops although some troops did use it up to 2010. I have only seen them in single stripes with an additional stripe added depending on the rank of the wearer.

Patrol Stripes and Leadership Award 2004 – 2010

As you can see from the image above the Patrol Leader Stripe on the arm in the image on the left had the Catholic Scouts cross while the World Scout logo is used on the three rank stripes in the image on the right. The World Scout logo was used be the Scout Association of Ireland before the merger in 2004 and the CSI used their cross, both badges continued to be used until the design on the Patrol rank badges changed in 2010.

Patrol Rank Stripes

Used by Scouting Ireland between 2004 and 2010, they are very similar if not identical to the design used by the S.A.I.  Single stripe for Assistant Patrol Leader, double stripe for Patrol Leader and triple strips for senior patrol leader.
